Every family has its masala recipe. This is my Mother In Laws recipe. She makes this every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>we make it with 3 types of salt, black pepper, cumin seeds, cinnamon, and cloves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lightly roast every ingredient and then grind it into the fine powder. It is stored at room temperature in an air-tight container. It stays good for up to a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the chaas masala is ready, you can make masala chaas in 2 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"what-is-masala-chaas\"   class=\"wp-block-heading\" >What is Masala Chaas?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Indian masala chaas is the ideal summer drink! Made with curd(yogurt), water, mint, and a special spice blend, it&rsquo;s not only light and refreshing but also good for your health!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a very popular drink in India, especially in Gujarati and Rajasthani households. In some parts of Gujarat, it is also called Katchhi Beer. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my home (in Mom&rsquo;s home, in my in-law&rsquo;s home, and even here), any meal is incomplete without chaas. We need chaas every day post-meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Making the chaas does not require any special skills, all you need is a hand blender. You just have to mix water and cold curd till combined and then pour into glasses, Sprinkle some prepared jeeralu and enjoy. It&rsquo;s that simple!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the perfect way to cool off during hot days. This salt aids in digestion improves appetite, removes gas, and soothes heartburn. It is used as a home remedy for curing many disorders.<\/li><li><strong>Regular salt:<\/strong> It provides Iodine required for your body.<\/li><li><strong>Cumin Seeds:<\/strong> Besides its culinary uses, this aromatic spice is known for its medicinal properties since ancient times. Being an excellent source of iron, it aids in digestion, boosts the immune system, and has anti-carcinogenic properties. Cumin helps to lower blood sugar levels and thus helps in maintaining proper blood content levels in the body.<\/li><li><strong>Black Salt\/Kala Namak\/Shanchal:<\/strong> Indian black salt is also known as Kala namak, is popular in India, Pakistan, and nations all across the world. But if you&rsquo;re worried about the fat intake, you can use fat-free or low-fat yogurt. You can use homemade or store-bought. If using greek yogurt, you need to add water more.<\/li><li><strong>Mint<\/strong> &ndash; Use only leaves, avoid stems.<\/li><li><strong>Chaas masala <\/strong>&ndash; Earlier prepared homemade masala<\/li><li><strong>Water<\/strong> &ndash; You need to add water according to how thick your card is. In a pan, on low flame, dry roast the Cumin, black pepper, clove, and cinnamon stick until light golden brown color. Let it cools down completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Take this into a &nbsp;jar, crush it very well and make a fine powder. Sieve this masala well. Keep it aside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. Now dry roast the regular salt for 5 minutes over low heat. Let it cools down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. In a big bowl, take roasted regular salt, roasted masala powder, sendhav namak, and Kala namak. Mix them very well. For easy mixing, take all the ingredients into a blender and pulse a few times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. Chaas Masala is ready. Add \u00bd teaspoon masala, or according to your liking, in Chaas \/ Buttermilk, a Few leaves of mint, and stir well. If not serving right away then store it in the refrigerator.<\/li><li>At the time of serving, stir the chaas first and then pour them into the glass.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"quick-faqs\"   class=\"wp-block-heading\" >Quick FAQs<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"schema-faq wp-block-yoast-faq-block\"><div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1617062342628\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\">What is the difference between Lassi and Chaas?<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">Both these Indian drinks are made with yogurt but are very different from each other. Chaas is a little watery, whereas Lassi is thicker in texture.<br>Generally, Chaas is salted, whereas traditionally Lassi is sweet and is flavored with saffron and dry fruits.<\/p> <\/div> <div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1617062620202\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\">Is buttermilk the same as chaas?<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">NO. Both are different. Whether it&rsquo;s summer or winter, it is safe to have it daily. But if you live in humid places, it is not advisable to have it so often, as it may cause cold.<\/p> <\/div> <div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1617062673653\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\">Can you drink it at night?<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\">You can drink it at night. But it&rsquo;s good to avoid it if you have a cold.<\/p> <\/div> <div class=\"schema-faq-section\" id=\"faq-question-1617062712167\"><strong class=\"schema-faq-question\">What are the chaas variations?<\/strong> <p class=\"schema-faq-answer\"><strong>Tadka Chaas<\/strong> &ndash; In this, buttermilk is given a tadka of cumin seeds, curry leaves, and green chilies. Tadka chaas is also known as Vaghareli chaas. For tempering(tadka), heat a teaspoon of oil in a small pan on medium heat. Once hot add prepared chaas masala, curry leaves, green chili, and a pinch of hing (asafetida). Add mint leaves and this tempering to the prepared buttermilk. Stir and enjoy. This tadka chaas is very famous in Gujarati Marriage functions.<br>Smoked Chaas &ndash; You can make either simple or masala chaas and smoke them with coal.
